A qualified team on top with the tech
IES Energy was founded in 2022 with the goal of offering innovative solutions in the renewable energy sector. Backed by years of experience with Decor - a company that operates in the building sector - we branched out on our own. Today we provide comprehensive solutions in systems engineering and energy efficiency, with a particular focus on European incentives and sustainability.
We are engineers with a solid background in construction and system installations. We work with reliable partners who are specialized in their field and collaborate in joint ventures with reputable firms on the market. With a mechanical engineer, a computer engineer, and a management engineer on our team, we have built the best foundation to develop new, innovative answers in step with the constantly evolving field of renewable energy sources.
Sepl Miribung – The go-getter
Ask him what he does and he’ll answer that he’s in charge of one – rather, two – or, according to the Chamber of Commerce, four companies. He also has been active in associations and in city administration for roughly a decade.
Between keeping an eye on marketing and focusing on strategic goals, Sepl also recruits personnel to install photovoltaic systems*. Yes, because IES Energy designs and installs energy solutions using renewable sources, and business is good, but qualified technicians with knowledge and expertise of the industry are needed.
Outside of the office, he works out three times a week or “tries to”. He also has three small children with his partner, and he's happy when he can read a book, go to the movies or the theater.
Getting back to IES, he founded the company with Ivan some years ago, but their friendship goes a long way back. Legend has it that they managed to get Ren§é involved in the project during a car ride to an industry trade show. It’s clear that all three share a love for the area they live in, a commitment to sustainable progress, and driving electric cars manufactured by a well-known American entrepreneur.
If you’re going to talk to him about travelling, get ready to sit back and get comfy because the list of cities he’s visited is almost as long as the drive to his dream destination: the moon.
His idea of a challenge is somewhere between Sudoku and keeping pace with the latest energy innovations for buildings. His concept of home includes figurative art, while his concept of design is an automatic holy water font branded Holy Drop that earned a BIG SEE Award for the Decor Group.

Ivan Alton - The thinker
Co-founder and CEO, Ivan oversees all projects going on throughout IES Energy. His training is in the construction industry and he’s specialized in navigating hurdles (especially bureaucratic challenges). He also enjoys running, skiing, and water sports.
He loves spending time outdoors and is very environmentally conscious, so much so that he is proud to be working in a field where he can contribute towards the energy transition. What really makes him proud, however, are his co-workers because he’s a team player, even when he uses words sparingly, like a Michelin-starred chef: with precision.
As proof of this, if he could choose an all-expense- paid vacation for a week, he would go sailing.
René Tolpeit - The Inventor
He loved cars as a child - and his passion has never gone away. Technology was flowing in his blood, so he put it to use by studying automotive engineering. If you want to make him happy, ask him about his time in Germany during his university and master's degrees, or ask about his latest idea – just keep in mind that his answer could range from concrete speakers to automatic water closets, prototypes of the MFA2 platform... and, of course, cars.
At IES Energy, René is our Operations Manager, overseeing construction sites and project development. He has known Sepl and Ivan since his childhood days, but just recently began collaborating with them. Together, they share a special bond with the bountiful, beautiful and fragile Alta Badia area, and he sees himself as a steward of this land. In fact, the positive impact of his work motivates him even more, because he believes that renewable energy will improve the quality of life of many people and communities.
René is also ambitious: he believes the greatest challenge for the business is time, because he knows he has many ideas, but also the advantage of having no constraints on his imagination to try to make them happen. Doing it their way.
If he could live anywhere in the world, he would fly to Chile where pristine nature stretches for thousands of miles. But that’s another story.
What we do
From grant applications to grid connections to maintenance - we deal with photovoltaic systems, charging stations, heat pumps and home automation. We design and install turnkey renewable energy projects for individuals, industrial clients, institutions and the tourism sector, and adapt them to their specific, true needs. The British would say tailor-made. We do it every day, keeping up-to-date with technological innovations and regulatory advances, in order to promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
